Hypnosis for Diabetes

Diabetes Motivational Coaching

Diabetes is reaching epidemic proportions with more than 2 million Canadians affected by this condition. The increasing numbers of people with type 2 diabetes is due to two main factors:

  • rising obesity rates due to unhealthy food choices and physical inactivity
  • increasingly stressful lifestyles leading to high blood sugar levels

Stress is a leading cause of this condition. When we are stressed, the “fight and flight” response sets in and our body secretes a hormone that temporarily stops insulin from working. The blood sugar levels in the body rise demanding an increase of insulin. In turn, higher levels of insulin and further stress create the need to eat more and hence gain more weight. Lack of sleep, often caused by stress, further worsens this condition, so the vicious cycle continues.

Diabetes is controllable! The onset of type 2 diabetes may be prevented or at least delayed, through increased physical activity, healthy eating, weight loss, eliminating smoking and stress reduction!
