How does hypnosis work for the fear of going to the dentist?

I am entering the dental office with butterflies in my stomach. The unpleasant smells and the metallic sounds in the office fill my senses. I don’t want to be here; I have dragged this visit out as long as I can. I am ready to snap at the assistant behind the counter because I am irritated and full of fear. I am convinced she has no idea how I feel being here. The fear rises as I sit in the waiting room. By the time I am sitting down in the dental chair, my heart is racing and I am ready to throw up. The dental hygienist clips a paper bib around my neck and clatters with the instruments around me. I just want her to stop. I can hear the drill from the room next door, people moving about, talking, there is so much noise and hectic. I feel like getting up and leaving. I am anticipating my worst dental experience yet.

That was me ten years ago. I had a dental phobia, a strong fear of dentists. Since then, I have become a hypnotherapist and learned to relax and hypnotize myself. Today, a visit to the dentist looks, sounds, smells, and feels completely different.

I enter the dental office with my soft blanket under my arm, a smile on my face. The assistant smiles back at me; we chat a bit before I sit down in the waiting area. I am breathing deeply, looking forward to a relaxing and positive dental experience. I use the opportunity to close my eyes for a bit, allowing my breath to relax me even further, going on a little journey to a special place in my mind.

In the blink of an eye, it is time for me to settle down in the dental chair. I ask the hygienist to recline the chair already. My dentist knows me. He knows that by the time he comes into the room I am deeply relaxed already, settled in comfortably under my blanket.

The dentist does his examination, lets me know there is a filling he wants to renew; he might have to drill a bit deeper, it seems there is a cavity underneath. I nod and get ready to take myself to a different place altogether.

As he begins his work, I count myself down a staircase, going deeper and deeper into trance with each step and each exhale. My heart beats calmly; my breathing is long and deep. I can hear his calming voice from a distance letting me know what he is doing. I so enjoy the gentle humming of the instruments lulling me into deeper relaxation, the gentle clutter of metal, feeling deep trust in this professional team doing an excellent job.

I can feel him working but I do not sense any pain. I am feeling a deep sense of calm and bliss in this trance. Once in a while he will ask me to open my mouth further or turn my head and he waits patiently as my responses are a bit slower than if I were fully conscious. I have lost all perception of time. Half an hour feels like five minutes, five deeply relaxing minutes. As I come back into the room, I feel refreshed and re-energized, pleased to have looked after my teeth, having taken good care of my health.

Can PSYCH-K® be done via Skype, Zoom or on the phone?

You might have come across “The Biology of Belief” by Bruce Lipton or “PSYCH-K – The Missing Piece/Peace In Your Life” by Rob Williams and are curious to experience how PSYCH-K® can shift your subconscious beliefs quickly and effectively. If there is no experienced PSYCH-K® practitioner in your area you might wonder if PSYCH-K® can be done over the phone or on skype?

Yes. It can. The practitioner can surrogate for you (or bring someone in at their end to stand in for you). The muscle/energy testing will then be done by your PSYCH-K practitioner (or on the surrogate person). You will be asked to join in at your end to take part in the belief change processes. Afterwards the energy testing will confirm the change.

A session on Skype or Zoom can be as effective and productive as an in person session and saves you the travelling to the practitioner’s location. If you have no access to a computer, PSYCH-K could also be done via phone but it is preferable to use the video option so you can be fully involved in your session.

This is what a client of mine in Europe has to say about Skype sessions:

“Right from the start, it is obvious that Angelika knows what she’s doing. She pours her heart and soul into her work and believes in what she does. I felt almost transformed after just one session of PSYCH-K. I look forward to future Skype sessions with her. I was a little sceptical at first about having a session over Skype (there are over 4000km between us) but much to my surprise it went like a dream.”

Spring Equinox

The spring equinox is one of the four solar festivals of the year. On March 20, day and night are equally long, light and dark are balanced, but about to tip over on the side of the light as the days are getting longer. The longer days of spring symbolize the time of a new life. Spring stands for new beginnings, new birth, and new growth.

As we celebrate the spring equinox with a meditation we are setting clear intentions, so that we can harvest a more bountiful future. Spring equinox is the season of new birth and renewal. It’s the optimum time to plant a personal garden within your being and to make a new start, to create what you really want to see in your life.

What is needed to plant the garden of your soul?

It is quite simple. What are the qualities you most want to see manifest in your life? What are your goals and dreams for a joyous future? What needs have to be met so you can be happy and feel fulfilled?

These are the seeds to plant in the garden of your being. Consider the things you want to have thriving most in your interior garden.

Maybe you want to plant the tiny seeds that lead to abundance and prosperity? Perhaps, you want harmony in all your relationships? What about planting the seeds of health and well being deeply within your heart?

Join us in a Spring Equinox Meditation as we set clear intentions for a new beginning on

March 21 from 7:00 – 8:00

in Mississauga (Winston Churchill / Britannia).

Please RSVP as space is limited.

The Inner Wolf

Do you feel like other people are judging you? Are you holding yourself back from reaching your goals and from living life the way you want to because you are afraid of other people’s judgements? Are you critical and judgmental of yourself?

It might be time to embrace your judgmental self and all those traits that you fear other people will not like about you.

If we deny and hide all those things we don’t like about ourselves, we give them power. By starving those traits we make them hungry for attack. It is as if we have a white wolf and a black wolf inside us. Should we feed the white wolf or the black? Both! If we only feed the white wolf and try to starve the dark one, the later will wait for an opportunity to attack when we least expect it.

“Truth be told, there is a whole pack of wolves running around inside us – the loving wolf, the kindhearted wolf, the smart wolf, the sensitive wolf, the strong wolf, the selfless wolf, the openhearted wolf, and the creative wolf. Along with these positive aspects exists the dissatisfied wolf, the ungrateful wolf, the entitled wolf, the nasty wolf, the selfish wolf, the shameful wolf, the lying wolf, and the destructive wolf. Each day we have the opportunity to acknowledge all of these wolves. All these parts of ourselves, and we get to choose how we will relate to each of them. Will we stand in judgement on some and pretend some don’t exist or are we going to take ownership of the entire pack?” (Debbie Ford, Why Good People Do Bad Things, p.22)

The black wolf also has many important qualities we might need. The angry wolf for example helps us to stand up for ourselves, the dissatisfied wolf reminds us to satisfy our needs and desires, the selfish wolf makes sure we are not being taken advantage of, and so on.

If we feed them both by acknowledging their existence and owning them, they will no longer fight to get our attention by surprising us with sudden attacks of that suppressed emotion. We can use each of them as needed.

Are you ready to acknowledge and own all the black wolves so you can live in harmony with all of yourself?

“It’s one of those days!”

A friend said to me yesterday, “I do not feel right. It’s one of those days! I woke up and already did not feel happy.”

Have you had one of those days? Do you feel unhappy or “not right” sometimes? I certainly have.

It seems we feel “off” when we are not in alignment with what is good for us, in line with our purpose, or when our values aren’t met. However, feeling “not right,” having unpleasant emotions, or feeling low is a good thing.

Our feelings help us to examine where we veered off our path. We need to ask, “Why am I not happy?” Did we say “yes” to something we should have said or wanted to say “no” to? Do we need to express our feelings or needs? Did a situation or other people bring up our issues, and do these issues need to be worked on?

Feeling “not happy” is a good thing because it gives us feedback that something deserves our attention. Our emotions are our internal guidance system. So next time you do not feel happy, do not sweep it under the carpet but ask what is needed for you to feel more balanced and lighter again.

Do you need to say no and set boundaries? Do you need to make healthier choices for your daily activities? Do you need time to yourself to go for a walk, sleep, read, meditate, sing, dance, be creative… for anything that you know lifts your energy? Do you need to look at some of your limiting beliefs, doubts or fears that keep popping up from your subconscious and change them?

Hypnosis and Psych-K can help you deal with sadness or unhappiness, allows you to make shifts in your life, and raises your vibration to live a fuller, happier and healthier life.
