I am fabulous!

“How are you?”

“I am fabulous!” Mr. P responds with a big smile, his eyes sparkling with joy.

Mr. P is a friend of mine, a very conscious teacher at an elementary school. He strides though the hallways with a bounce in his step and an uplifting and catching energy around him. He meditates with his students, sees the best in every child, and shares a smile with every one of them. He loves his job; he loves life!

When you ask Mr. P how he is, he never just replies “I am good.” His reply is, “I am fabulous!” or “I am fantastic!” or at the very least, “I am wonderful!” Even just the tone of his voice says, “It’s an amazing day!”

The other day, the custodian passed by, and upon receiving the answer, “I am fabulous!” he paused and commented, “You always say you are fabulous, Mr. P. How can that be? Nobody can always feel that good!”

Mr. P’s simple reply was, “I have the choice to be miserable – or to feel fabulous. I choose to feel fabulous.”

I am sure the custodian is not the only one who has wondered about this. What belief systems do most of us struggle with to make us believe that nobody can feel this good all the time? We are affected by old beliefs that tell us that life is hard, that it’s a struggle, that we cannot possibly have it all, that we don’t deserve to be happy all the time, or that if we get too happy something will surely happen to bring us down to the tough reality.

Is that really how you want to live your life?

Or would you like to experience it like Mr. P who spreads his joy and love to everybody he meets?

It all starts with making the decision to shift from gloom and fear to joy and love. You are worthy of happiness! You can feel fabulous! You ARE fabulous!

Let’s clear out all the old beliefs systems and fears that are in the way of you opening up to your full magnificence.

Does Past Life Therapy Prove That Reincarnation Exists?

Last week, I was called up by a high school student who had to write an essay for anthropology about Reincarnation. Considering that this was a Catholic student, her questions were phrased from a specific perspective and based on the teachings of the Catholic church. I would like to answer some of her queries in this blog that reflect what many people wonder about.

1.   How does past-life regression work? How is it able to reach into one’s soul and be able to reveal who they were in the past?

Past Life Regression works through hypnosis. The past life memories are stored in the subconscious mind and can be accessed in a hypnotic state.

2.    How does one’s realization of a past life affect their choices in the present?

Past Life Therapy focuses on what a person has learned in a past life. “How did I gain or grow, what could I have done better, and how can those insights help me in my present life?”

Sometimes there is a “carryover” from a past life. We are still struggling with the same lessons, or we brought issues we had with certain people in the past into this life with us.

3.    Because past-life regression is able to reveal an individual’s past life, is this proof of reincarnation?

No, it isn’t. However, Past Life Therapy does not try to prove whether we reincarnate, or not. Even if the story that is coming up from the subconscious mind could be a metaphor of our deeper mind to help us, it has great value as it answers our questions and deeper concerns. Countless times I have seen how emotionally healing, cleansing, and freeing a past life regression is for most people. It leads to new understanding that can be applied to our present life.

If you call me before the end of May I will honour the

Mother’s Day $111.00 Past Life Regression Special,

even if we have to book your appointment for June.

Myths about Hypnosis

In the last few years, hypnosis has become a popular topic for TV shows such as “The Mentalist,” and is often shown in movies as well. As much as we all enjoy the fantasy world these shows present, this form of entertainment also perpetuates certain myths about hypnosis.

  1. A common myth is that a person under hypnosis is out of control. The exact opposite is true. You don’t lose control while under hypnosis, but rather, you take control and focus your awareness. All hypnosis is self-hypnosis. The hypnotist is just a guide leading you into a state that you are capable of achieving on your own. In fact, we all go into a hypnotic state at different times during our day.
  2. Some people are afraid that they will divulge secrets while under hypnosis. Thanks to TV and movies, they associate hypnosis with a polygraph or truth serum. The truth is that a person can still lie under hypnosis. With hypnosis, you are aware of everything around you. You have the choice to answer or not to answer a question. You also have the ability to lie or to tell the truth. You are always in control.
  3. Myth number three is that only certain people who are suggestible and easy to influence can be hypnotized. People usually believe in hypnosis—but not for themselves, only for others. They doubt they themselves can be hypnotized. In reality, any person with a normal ability to focus and concentrate can be hypnotized—if they want to be hypnotized. It has been proven that an intelligent and strong-willed person actually goes into a hypnotic state quicker than a weak-minded person. You are the one who makes the decision to take control of your life and to use hypnosis to access your powerful subconscious mind.
  4. Myth number four: In movies, we see people who are hypnotized and become stuck in hypnosis. It is an impossibility to ever be stuck in a hypnotic state. If someone claims to be stuck in this state, hypnosis is used as an excuse to do something they would otherwise not have permission to do. It is always without fail possible to come out of a hypnotic trance.

Can anyone be hypnotized?

When I give talks on Hypnosis or Psych-K®, a question I am often asked is, “Can anyone be hypnotized?” You might as well ask, “Can everybody relax?”

The answer is yes. As long as you want to, you can learn to relax. As long as you want to, you can go into a hypnotic trance. However, if you don’t feel comfortable and don’t trust the practitioner you are seeing you will probably not relax very deeply, whether they are guiding you into a relaxing meditation or into a hypnotic state.

Hypnosis is always self hypnosis. You have to open up to being guided. You are choosing to focus on the voice of the hypnotist. You are choosing to let go and go to a deeper and healthier level of your mind.

At this deep level of your mind, your brain wave activity slows down to the alpha or theta frequency. You are between being awake (beta wave activity) and being asleep (delta waves) and your subconscious mind is accessible to receive beneficial suggestions that help you reach your goals. Old beliefs can be erased and new, more supportive beliefs can be programmed at this deep level.

Contrary to how it might appear when you see a stage hypnotist perform or when hypnosis is portrayed in the media, the person in hypnosis is always in control. You can choose to come out of your trance at any time. You will not do or say anything that you would not normally do or say. You won’t cluck like a chicken unless you want to.
